Horseback Rides

If you’re looking for an amazing horseback riding experience White Pine has the a leg up on the rest! We have some of the most experienced guides and most beautiful trails in the Wind Rivers. We can provide Day Rides and pack trips for all ages, groups and skill levels. White Pine sits at the base of one of the most pristine areas in the Wind Rivers and has access to trails in the area that no other outfitter can provide. We’ll show you pristine mountain lakes, gorgeous meadows with hundreds of wildflowers and stunning mountain views. We offer several different and customized rides and trips that will be fun for everyone in your group and can also accommodate Spot Pack Trips and Gear Drops so you can focus on your adventure.

At White Pine we have only safe and experienced horses. Our instructors and guides will take care to match you with the right horse for your comfort and riding ability. For the novice and beginner riders we also offer lessons before your trip to ensure that you feel confident and safe on your horse and so that you have the best riding experience possible.

Our Head Outfitter is one of the most experienced Outfitters in Wyoming and has carved many of these trails out himself. He trains all of the horses and guides himself and is hands on during every trip he’s on. His high standards, experience and 40 years of riding, hunting and hiking in the Wind River Mountains make our rides some of the best you can get. Please see our trips and rates below.

Daily Rides

These trips are designed for 2-4 people who want to have a fun, easy day in the wilderness. Trails are easy to moderate and don’t require too much effort. These are great rides for novice and beginner riders as well as intermediate riders. We have affordable full and half day rides available. These rides can be combined with fishing and hiking for a fun day in the mountains. Additional rates will apply. Please call for details.

Daily Ride Rates:

Full Day Ride: $175.00 per person per day

Full Day Ride and Western Cookout: $190.00 per person per day

Half Day Rides: $100.00 per person per day

Includes:

1-2 experienced guides, 1 horse, tack and a hearty trail lunch.

1-2 experienced guides, 1 horse, tack and western-style bbq steak lunch.

1 experienced guide, 1 horse and tack

What To Bring:

Water, Lip Balm, Sun Block, Wide Brimmed Hat, Extra Socks, Closed Toe Boots with Good Tread, Gloves, Travel-Sized Personal Items, Bug Spray, Any allergy or other medications you may need. 1 Light-Weight Day Pack.

Overnight Rides

Overnight horseback rides are a great way to get just a little extra bang for your bucks! White Pine has some sweet deals for you to get the full mountain experience in a short time. These trips are for 2-5 people and are set packages.

Overnight Ride Rates:

Bed and Breakfast Special: $195.00 per person

You’ll stay at the White Pine Campground, a quick breakfast in camp and a light sack lunch on the trail before heading back to camp.

Overnight Trail Ride and Full Campfire Cookout: $220.00 per person

This special trip will have you ride through the wilderness, stop for a light lunch, then ride to our favorite camp site, make camp and then we’ll cook you and your guests a full western BBQ. You will sleep in a cozy tent by the warmth of the campfire and then get up to a quick breakfast and ride back to the trail head.

Includes:

1-2 guides, 1 horse and tack, sleeping accommodations, breakfast and lunch.

1-3 guides, 1 horse and tack, sleeping/camping accommodations, trail lunch and a full western steak barbeque cookout and breakfast the next morning.

What To Bring:

Water, Lip Balm, Sun Block, Wide Brimmed Hat, Extra Socks, Light Layers of Clothing, Long Pants, Closed Toe Boots with Good Tread, Gloves, Travel-Sized Personal Items, Bug Spray, Any allergy or other medications you may need. 1 overnight backpack.

Guest Corral Rental

Guests of White Pine may have use of our Horse Corral for an additional fee. We have safe fencing and do not allow picketing or horse in trailers or tied to trailers overnight. We have safe tie ups, water hoses and clean troughs available for your convenience. Rates and restrictions apply.

Corral Rates and Rules:

$10.00 per horse per night

You must clean up after your horse in the corral, at the trailer and around the corral. Please make sure to bring your own small muck bucket and fork.

No horses will be allowed to be tied near or ridden through the Camping Sites at White Pine for the safety of horses and humans.
White Pine will not be responsible for any injury to you or your horses. There are local veterinarians and farriers and a local clinic available if you should encounter any health or injury issues with you or your horse. We have knowledgeable personnel onsite for animal or human basic first aid needs.

Guest Horse Restrictions:

  • Guests must provide all feed and care. We do not provide a Corral groom or muck hand.
  • Horses coming from out of state must have the proper heath certificates or they will not be permitted to stay. If you have any questions regarding what your horse needs please feel free to ask upon reserving lodging or consult your veterinarian.
  • All hay and grain MUST be certified weed free.
  • White Pine will check all of these certificates upon your arrival.
  • Only leashed pets are allowed. Please pick up after your pets.
