WHITE PINE RESORT POLICIES

This page is constantly being updated.  White Pine Ski & Summer Resort reserves the right to change or amend these policies without notice at any time.


Backpack Policy
White Pine requires all packs be removed prior to loading a lift and carried on the rider’s lap with all straps secured and out of the way for upload transport.


Boundary Policy
White Pine is surrounded entirely by National Forest and operates under Special Use Permit.  As such, White Pine reserves the right to restrict terrain access at its own discretion within permit boundaries. Terrain access is regulated through a series of signs and rope lines; all erected and maintained in the interest of public safety. Violating White Pine boundary lines and signs can result in long, strenuous, cold and dark search and rescue efforts in areas that most often do not have cell service. Traveling beyond the marked area boundary or going under any rope at any time is at skiers’ own risk with no ski patrol services offered. 


Dogs Policy
White Pine loves dogs but for the safety (and hygiene) of our guests we do not permit them to be near the lifts or lodge, to ride the lifts or to use the ski trails during hours of operation. Dogs are allowed in other outdoor public areas but must be on a leash and owners are required to clean up after their dogs.


Drones Policy
Not Allowed Without Prior Written Authorization

White Pine Resort is situated on US Forest Service land, operating under a Special Use Permit by the USFS Bridger-Teton National Forest.   The US Forest Service has specific regulations concerning the use of drones in certain areas of Forest Service land; a special permit from the Forest Service may be required prior to its use and operation on Forest Service land. Consult with the local forest service office prior to use or operation of any drone.

Additionally, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has specific regulations governing the use of drones which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Never flying above 400 feet
  • Never flying near the aerial transportation of passengers (this includes ski lifts)
  • Never flying over groups of people, public events, or stadiums full of people
  • Never flying near emergencies such as fires or hurricane recovery efforts

Consequently, and out of safety and privacy concerns for guests, employees, and resort property, White Pine Resort prohibits the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems, or aerial drones, by the general public – including recreational users and hobbyists – without prior authorization.

This prohibition includes using drones for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within White Pine Ski Area permit boundaries.  This prohibition on drone operations or use extends to any drones operated from resort property or launched from private property outside of the ski area permit boundaries that enter the permit boundaries.

Any authorized operation of aerial drones may be governed by FAA rules and regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately established by White Pine Ski & Summer Resort, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or releases of liability.

Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your skiing or snowboarding privileges, or the revocation of your season pass, as well as confiscation of any drone equipment, and may subject violators to any damages, including, but not limited to, damages for violations of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries or property damage, as well as regulatory fines and legal fees.


Gift Cards

There are no refunds for White Pine Gift Cards or Certificates. Gift cards are like cash and are not replaced if lost or stolen.  Since White Pine Gift Cards are from Square, they do not expire.  The balance on a gift card cannot be transferred to another gift card.  The purchase of gift cards cannot be added to existing Invoices with White Pine.  Gift Card balances can be checked HERE.


Liability Waivers

Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Hold Harmless Agreement:  All season pass holders are required to sign an annual agreement before the pass can be issued.  Pass holders under 18 must have an agreement signed by their parent or guardian.


Refunds

There Are No Refunds – All daily ticket purchases are FINAL and cannot be canceled, refunded, or transferred to other people.  We do not guarantee weather or conditions, open terrain or number of lifts operating.  HOWEVER, White Pine does offer a credit for another day of skiing/boarding within 1 hour of purchasing the ticket.


Snowsports Responsibility Code

  1. Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
  2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
  3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
  4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
  5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
  6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
  7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.

Summer Activities

Horseback Riding & Fishing

PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR REFUSAL WAIVER: Anyone who wishes to not wear protective headgear during an outing or class, must first sign a Headgear Refusal Waiver before participating.

RESERVATION/DEPOSIT: We require a 50% deposit to hold your dates.  We will not consider your trip dates confirmed until we receive your ½ down payment even though we may have agreed upon dates. Full balance is due upon arrival.

REFUND POLICY: Deposits are nonrefundable but may be transferred to another date not to extend beyond the following year.  There are absolutely NO refunds on any payments received within 45 days of your prearranged trip. No rate reductions or extra days will be given if you leave before the conclusion of your trip or fail to arrive on the prearranged dates.

CANCELLATION POLICY: There will be NO refund of deposit or balance once payment has been made if we cannot refill the space. Any cancellations upon arrival or after arrival will be billed the balance due, in full.

Wyoming’s Recreational Safety Act applies!

Special Events

RESERVATION/DEPOSIT: A 50% facility deposit and a signed Venue Rental Agreement are required upon booking to reserve a date. If White Pine is Catering your event, full payment for food is required 30 days prior to your event.

DECORATIONS: Decorating can be done between Noon and 4pm on the day prior to the wedding. White Pine does not provide any decorations. All decorations should be collected the day after the event, by arrangement.


Uphill Travel Policy

White Pine allows uphill travel along an approved, marked and mapped uphill route as designated on large maps near the lodge and on the base lift station. The designated uphill travel route, as approved by the Pinedale BTNF Ranger District, is along the left side of Wind River Return, thence Wind River to the summit.

Pre-Season Uphill Travel Policy

Pre-season uphill travel is not allowed!  White Pine snow preparations, packing and grooming activities are all necessary to preserve and prepare the snow so that the ski hill can open as soon as reasonably possible.  Skinning and skiing these runs during this time, interferes with these activities and prevents ideal snow manipulation.  Please respect White Pine permit property and do not interfere with or load ski lifts.  Any out-of-season, or non-business day, skiing is at your own risk, with no patrol services offered. In the event of an emergency call 911 or call the Sublette County Sheriff’s office dispatch directly at 307-367-4378.

 Post-Season Uphill Policy

After our winter resort operations end, and spring runoff conditions exist, uphill traffic is not suggested on White Pine permit property.  Please respect White Pine permit property and do not interfere with or load ski lifts. Any out-of-season, or non-business day, skiing is at your own risk, with no patrol services offered. In the event of an emergency call 911 or call the Sublette County Sheriff’s office dispatch directly at 307-367-4378.


Winter Activities

Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding – Simply show up and purchase your daily lift ticket and/or rentals.  NO ADVANCE PURCHASE OR RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!

Corporate Pass Holders

  • The business entity which purchases a Corporate Season Pass may issue the pass to any employee or client at its discretion. Any distribution of the Pass to employees or clients must be purely on a complimentary basis.
  • Each Corporate Pass purchased is VALID FOR ONLY ONE USER PER DAY.
  • Valid during winter business hours/days.  No blackout dates!
  • The Corporate Season Pass purchase is NOT refundable, and is NOT intended for re-sale.

Indy Pass Holders

  • IndyPass members receive 2 free lift tickets, and 25% off additional visits at White Pine.
  • Valid during any day of operation for the 2021-22 Winter Season (limit of one per day, per pass holder).
    • Normal days of operation are Friday thru Monday with the exception of the Christmas/New Year break which is open every day (approx. Dec. 17 thru Jan 3).
  • White Pine does not have any blackout days for IndyPass members.
  • Advance reservations are NOT required.
  • Present a valid photo ID, at the Ticket Office on the mountain to receive your lift ticket.

Reciprocal Partners

  • Present a valid season pass from one of our partner resorts and receive reciprocal skiing benefits at White Pine.
  • Advance reservations NOT required.
  • Present your season pass at the Ticket Office on the mountain to receive your benefit.
  • Limit one lift ticket per day, per season pass holder.

Season Passes

  • PAYMENT: We accept all debit and/or credit cards, check, cash, and White Pine Gift Certificates.  White Pine Gift Certificates and Gift Cards cannot be used online at this time.  Please note that any purchase made online will also be charged approximately 3% by our online payment processor.  This is clearly noted in bold red on the season pass page, as well as the online shop as the adjusted amount.  Our online payment processor (PayPal) does offer PayPal Credit which is a 6-month Interest-Free payment plan.
  • WAIVERS: All season pass holders are required to sign a liability waiver before the pass can be issued. Pass holders under 18 (minors) must have an agreement signed by their parent or guardian.  Minors picking up their season pass without their parents, need this form filled out to pick up their pass.
  • CANCELLATIONS: All season pass sales are normally final and non-refundable.  However, with the uncertainty over Covid-19 we want all our Season Pass Holders to feel secure purchasing a White Pine Season Pass. We will refund the Season Pass Price (less any non-refundable payment processing charges if applicable) at any time, for any reason, up to November 18th.
  • AGE DETERMINATION: November 1 of each year is the birthday cut-off date for season passes and lift tickets.  White Pine reserves the right to charge any additional amount on a pass if the individual does not meet the age requirement for that pass.
  • FRAUD POLICY:  White Pine has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to season passes being used in a fraudulent manner.  If a guest is involved in the fraudulent use of a season pass (this includes the pass holder) they will have to forfeit the pass for the remainder of the season and leave the premises for the day.  The season pass (and associated privileges) is null and void because it was used in a fraudulent manner.  The guest and season passholder may purchase daily lift tickets for the remainder of the season.
  • FORGOT OR LOST MY PASS: In the event you FORGET your season pass, a ticketing associate will verify you in the pass system and issue you a complimentary lift ticket for the day.  You will be required to immediately put the ticket on in front of the ticketing associate.  In the event you LOST your pass, you may have a duplicate season pass reprinted for $10.  Season pass holders are only allowed ONE “Replacement” season pass for the season.  If the pass is lost a second time, then the pass holder may re-purchase a season pass at the original purchase price.

Ski Bikes

EQUIPMENT:

  • An anti-runaway device (Leash) or restraint must be present between the device and the rider (either with a breakaway link or removable when on chair lifts).
  • An anti-drop device or restraint for use on chairlifts must be present between the device and the chairlift (not attached to the rider) to prevent the device from physically becoming separated from the rider and the chair and potentially being dropped.  Chairlift safety bar must be used when transporting ski bikes.
  • No cut off skis with exposed square ends, unfinished fabrication or unnecessary protrusions.
  • The device design should not impede the normal operation of the facility.  The rider must be able to self-load and unload without slowing the lift down. The rider must sit on an outside  position on the chair and must be able to slide/ride off the lift at the same pace as other customers, not walk off the ramp or interfere with other guests.
  • The device must not be motorized.

RIDER SKILLS/RULES:  Just like our ski and snowboard customers, snow bike riders must obey the Wyoming Skier Safety Act and Skiers Responsibility Code.

RIDER KNOWLEDGE: Before being allowed to ride White Pine’s ski hill, the rider must be able to demonstrate knowledge and safe use of the ski bike to a White Pine Patroller.  The rider must know any and all safe use requirements specific to their equipment.  The rider should demonstrate safe riding practices and awareness of other mountain users in their immediate vicinity at all times. A violation of this policy will result in your ski/snow bike riding privileges being revoked with no refund issued.  White Pine Ski Patrol reserves the right to stop any activity that they
deem dangerous to the customer or other customers.

Tubing

  • Height minimum is 42” and weight maximum is 250 lbs per tuber.
  • Only 1 person per tube.
  • Tubing allowed in provided tubes only.
  • All participants must have a tubing ticket attached to a coat or pants.
  • No ski boots, snowboards boots with metal cleats, or other hard shell/rigid sole footwear.
